WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
20 Gauge Wire
Floral wire
Tomato Plant Stand (the metal form)
Dry cleaner bags or green plastic wrap
String of Christmas lights
HOW TO MAKE IT:
The first step is to decide how tall you want your Christmas tree light to be. If this accent light will be standing in your yard then go for the whole tomatoes plant stand. If you want to set it on a table inside, then you can shorten the tomato plant stand by snipping off somewhat large round end with some wire snips. You could also use the 20-gauge wire to make your own mini tomato plant stand form.
Now, obviously you need to turn the tomato plant stand upside down so the large end is the base of the tree. You can glue the four loose ends that are now the top, together in a point. Hot glue works best.
Now, take you floral wire and start adding some more circles to your tomatoes plant stand. Just work your way up and down the form. I like to fasten the floral wire at the bottom circle of the Christmas tree shape. Then start wrapping around and around working your way to the top. Space the wire about an inch to two inches apart. Tie it off at the top and cut off any extra wire.
Now, take your green plastic wrap or dry cleaner bags and start cutting out strips of plastic. You should make these about three inches wide an about 8 inches long.
Now, you are going to need a lot of these plastic strips. So, just start cutting out a pile of them and as you run out you can cut out more.
Now, the dry cleaner bags will make a white clear colored tree, the green plastic will obviously make a green Christmas tree.
