WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Car hangers (wire)
Paper
Decoupage
Old rubber balls or Styrofoam balls
Tin Snips
HOW TO MAKE IT:
To get started you need to attach your hanger to your ball. Go ahead and use the tin snips to cut that hooked hanger portion of yoru wire hanger off. Cut this about three inches down on each side of the hook.

Now, if you use a plastic or rubber ball, then use an epoxy glue to glue this to the top of the ball.

If you are using a Styrofoam ball to make the large Christmas ornaments, then fold the two cut ends together. Press the ends into the Styrofoam ball. Pull them out, add some glue, and then press them back in.

Now, once any glue has dried you are ready to paint or decoupage. I recommend decoupage because it is waterproof once it is dry.

Simply tear your paper off, apply some decoupage medium, press the paper into place on the large ball and then continue.

Tip: Try covering the ball in one color of paper first. Now, cut out strips, shapes, polka dots, and more. Apply these to the surface of the large Christmas ornament to decorate it.

Let all of this dry. Once the decoupage dries you can also use paint pens to outline any details you added.

Most round glass traditional Christmas ornaments have a small metal collar on them. This is around the metal loop you stick the ornamented hook through. It really makes your oversized Christmas ornaments look more realistic in your yard I you will add something to create this metal collar.

If you have a plastic coke bottle then cut it open. Use the plastic to cut out a strip of plastic that is a few inches tall. now, scallop the bottom edge. Wrap this around to create a cylinder.

Now, paint or primer out the plastic. You can use a spray on silver paint.
